Vision

Reno Christian Fellowship

Our Purpose

We exist to glorify God, be loved by God, to love God and express His love to others.

Our Vision

To stimulate a daily, growing and genuine faith in Jesus Christ.

Our Core Values

1. People utilizing spiritual gifts

We believe that each person who has accepted Christ as Savior also receives supernatural abilities; therefore,

We value the discovery, development, and expression of spiritual gifts.

1Corinthians 12:4-6
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are a variety of ministries and the same Lord. And there are a variety of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. (NAS)

Romans 12:4-6
For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. And since we have gifts given to us, let each exercise them accordingly… (NAS)

2. Creatively communicating His word

We believe that God has always expressed His heart to us; therefore,

We value the privilege of creatively communicating God’s heart to all mankind.

Acts 1:8
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (NAS)

1Corinthians 9:22-23
… I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. And I do all things for the sake of the gospel, that I may become a fellow partaker of it. (NAS)

3. Lifestyle of worship

We believe that when Christ enters one’s life, He changes all we are and do; therefore,

We value a life of worship expressed in obedience to God in all we do.

Romans 12:1-2
I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (NAS)

Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. (NAS)

4. Authenticity

We believe that God is real, knows us intimately, and loves us; therefore,

We value authentic relationships which reflect truthfulness, acceptance and transparency with Christ, ourselves, and others.

Proverbs 10:9
He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out. (NAS)

Romans 12:9-10
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor. (NAS)

5. Church Planting

We believe the church is dynamic and living and is meant to grow and reproduce; therefore,

We value the planting and development of new Christ-centered communities

Romans 10:14-15
How then shall the call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!” (NAS)

Acts 13:2
And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” (NAS)

6. Prayer

We believe that intimate communication is an integral part of our relationship with God and is essential to fully experiencing Him; therefore,

We value prayer as vital to a lifestyle and calling dependent on God.

I Thess. 5:17
Pray without ceasing. (NAS)

Colossians 4:2
Devote yourself to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving. (NAS)

Ephesians 6:18
With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints… (NAS)

7. Continuous Growth

We believe faith is a journey as we daily seek to be more like Jesus; therefore,

We value an active and growing relationship with Christ, becoming all that we were created to be by daily living out God’s Word.

Phil. 1:5-6
…in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. For I am confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. (NAS)

Hebrews 5:13,14
For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern between good and evil. (NAS)

II Peter 3:18
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. (NAS)

8. Value People

We believe God has created every person and desires a loving relationship with each one; therefore,

We value all people.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (NAS)

Gen 1:27
And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (NAS)

9. Pursuing the Lost

We believe God has gone to extraordinary lengths to reconcile all of His creation to Himself; therefore,

We value all people being reconciled to God through relationship with Christ.

John 3:17
"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. (NAS)

2 Cor 5:18-19a
Now all {these} things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. (NAS)

2 Pet 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. (NAS)

10. Intentional Community of Believers

We believe Christ has established His church to accomplish His will; therefore,

We value community for encouraging, equipping, serving and loving one another.

Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love,
united in spirit, intent on one purpose. (NAS)

Eph 4:11-12

And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (NAS)
