RCF Ministries
RCF had its beginnings in the simple setting of a youth small group, meeting together on Wednesday evenings and later Sunday mornings and for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.
On February 17, 1972, papers were filed and recorded and Reno Christian Fellowship became an official independent non-denominational church. What started out as a small group soon became a much larger gathering. As people continued to come, the church required larger facilities and moved to various locations throughout the Reno/Sparks area, including the gym of the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Terminal Way, Bresser Ave., a warehouse on Energy Way, and Oddie Boulevard to accommodate the rapid growth.
Thanksgiving 1982 marked the very first service at the current RCF home at 1700 W. Zolezzi Lane. Located in the beautiful foothills below Mt. Rose and overlooking the Truckee Meadows, RCF is on 25 acres in the middle of one of the fastest growing areas in the greater Reno-Sparks area. In September 1997, RCF added a 16,000 square foot expansion to the original building which provided more classrooms, larger Student Ministry facilities, and another, more intimate, gathering area.
RCF offers weekend gatherings with contemporary music and Biblical teaching, providing encouragement and relevancy to life’s issues and challenges. Children’s programs are available for all ages, infant through 6th grade, The Underground is designed for middle school and high school students, and The Source is a ministry to 18 – 20 somethings. In addition, there are numerous opportunities for Adults to get involved in men’s and women’s groups, home small groups, and Sunday morning classes.
RCF is not confined only to this beautiful location. Reno Christian Fellowship
believes that the Church exists where ever God’s people are. Over the
past 20 years RCF has not only been active throughout the valley, but several
“sister” churches have been planted from RCF each with there own
unique way of communicating the love of God: Parkside Bible Fellowship in Fallon,
Sparks Christian Fellowship, and Carson City Christian Fellowship. We hope you
will join us as we strive to “glorify God, be loved by God, love God,
and express His love to others.”
